Stradbroke Street HEATHWOOD will be the venue for this year’s start point. Registrations from 6am, Convoy gets under way at 9am. Saturday 29th October 2011, Travelling same route as last year via Logan Mwy, Gateway Mwy, Houghton Hwy, The Esplanade into Victoria Ave for the run into the showground’s.

We have a jam packed day this year. Lots for the kids and adults. Truck pull tug o war is on again, last year Owens Tpt were the stand out team, and they reckon they are setting the benchmark for this year.
V8 Simulators will be on hand to keep both mum & dad and the kids occupied all day and night. There will be a couple of those, with a Ute cab as the vehicle, this is as real as it gets, braking, gear changing cornering and more. Big screen in front and set up of track can vary for age groups, with custom or well know tracks around Australia and world circuits the V8 supercars travel to. Also Appearing will be a Stone Brothers racing B-double of Scott Mclaughlin. With an auction item of a 3 lap passenger seat HOT LAP SESSION with Scott courtesy Mclaughlin Motorsport Valued at over $1500 usable at either Brisbane Sydney or Melbourne circuits. You choose location, they will give you dates for the place you choose.
Disney Pixar’s Mack the Transporter will be the key static attraction for the kids, this vehicle and display is extremely popular around the country with parents and kids whether your into trucks or not.
Carnival rides, jumping castles, bucking bull ride are some other great things happening.
Stage shows are also planned, The Silly Billies for the kids, Magic Mike, Picco the Clown, Search & rescue dogs display and all day face painting and much more to keep everyone entertained.
Music will also feature on stage, Luke Austin Band (Country Music Won Star Maker 2010), Luke Dickens Band(Came 2nd in Australian Idol and Won Star Maker 2011), Tarscha (Country Music singer (Camp Quality Ambassador), Blues Corp and Local Kerry Kennedy and his band Double barrel.
Truck and Ute shows are on again, last year saw Qld’s biggest Ute show in over 3 years, Trucks are shiny, what kid doesn’t love seeing them , being able to get in one, some will even get the chance to have a ride in one. Lining the street and hearing all those air horns is a spectacular in itself. With major police presence, road closures and diversions in place this convoy will grab the attention of many people this year.
Brisbane Convoy for Kids is open to all Truckies and Ute enthusiasts who register to take part for a $55 registration fee. The preceding Friday, the opportunity to take the coveted spot as the Lead Truck of the Convoy is fought out via auction online.
